“Disagreeable” Child Corpses Stink Up Baltimore Streets in the 1850s
(The Baltimore Sun, 8/21/1850)
“Disagreeable. — The practice of conveying to the grave, in carriages, the bodies of deceased children, is provoking the censure of many ministers of this city. They say that in many instances the smell of the corpse is very offensive, especially so when the lid of the coffin is not closely fastened. They suggest that the small hearses provided for children be more generally used.”

I Love Maryland Racing!
That’s Amore Stable: “I Love Maryland Racing! is the work of decorated filmmaker Jeff Krulik. A local boy, Jeff is a big racing fan whose work we’ll be featuring in the weeks to come. His work includes the Emmy Award-winning “Eatin’ Crabs” for Maryland Public Television’s Chesapeake Bay Week; “Ernest Borgnine on the Bus”; “I Created Lancelot Link”; and “Hitler’s Hat.” He is perhaps best known for co-producing the cult favorite documentary, “Heavy Metal Parking Lot.” He’s also been known to cash the occasional triple. Visit him at www.jeffkrulik.com to learn more!”
