A Bowie man accused of beating his mother with a rolling pin has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection with the brutal attack that police say caused the woman’s death a little more than a week later.
Charles Crockett, 22, was in custody on attempted-murder and other related charges in connection with the Sept. 6 incident when his mother, 55-year-old Roberta Susan Crockett, died from her injuries Wednesday, authorities said. According to police and a relative, Charles Crockett bludgeoned his mother with a rolling pin for reasons that remain a mystery, then tussled with relatives who tried to intervene.
